Jason Stude is the Executive Chef at the East Austin Hotel. He began his culinary career at 15, working as a busboy in his family’s Italian restaurant, Alesi’s. At 22, he embarked to learn vegetable focused cuisine from Chef Terry Conlan at the Lake Austin Spa Resort. In 2008, he relocated to Dallas to be Sous Chef of Bolla, under Chef David Bull. He was soon after promoted to Private Dining Chef, where he received the National Association of Catering Executives award for Culinary Excellence. In 2010, he dedicated himself to the opening of Second Bar + Kitchen in Austin. During his time at Second Bar + Kitchen, he participated in the Food Network series Chopped, and was crowned Chopped Champion. He went on to open Boiler Nine and then helm East Austin Hotel's culinary program, where he works currently.
