As the Executive Chef behind the Summer House on Music Lane restaurant at Hotel Magdalena and Carpenters Hall at Carpenter Hotel, Jeffrey Hundelt utilizes global cooking influences with classic techniques and an unpretentious, Austin sensibility to create a distinct culinary experience for the Austin dining scene. Overseeing all of Hotel Magdalena and Carpenter Hotel’s food & beverage venues, including the restaurants, bars, event catering, and in-room dining menus, Hundelt has developed memorable cuisine with a refined, yet approachable flare that emphasizes the slow food mentality, highlighting ingredients at their peak in season, bold flavors, and live-fire cooking. Previously, he held the position as the Culinary Director for the highly acclaimed Launderette in Austin (Food & Wine’s 2016 “Restaurant of the year”) and Fresa’s Chicken al Carbon restaurants in Austin. A graduate of the Texas Culinary Academy, Le Cordon Bleu who has over 10 years of industry experience in all aspects of kitchen operations, Hundelt's work has ranged from mentoring leading chefs in major kitchens to strategic purchase planning to menu and recipe development, overseeing some of the most well-known restaurants in Austin.
