Pat Martin is one the few pitmasters left practicing the traditional cooking style of West Tennessee whole-hog barbecue. His first Martin’s Bar-B-Que Joint inspired a dedicated local following and drew in guests from all over the country, and through thoughtful expansion of Martin’s Bar-B-Que Joint throughout the Southeast, he has steadily built a legacy in his commitment to keep the art alive. In 2017, he opened Hugh-Baby’s BBQ & Burger Shop, recalling the heyday of fast-food dining, offering quality ingredients, excellent service, no-fuss Southern hospitality, and a back-to-basics menu of burgers made from beef ground in-house, slow-smoked barbecue, and hand-spun milkshakes.
