Chef Philip Speer owns and operates Comedor, a Mexican restaurant in downtown Austin, where he also serves as the restaurant’s pastry chef, alongside Chef Gabe Erales. Comedor was named among Esquire’s top new restaurants in America of 2019 as well as Restaurant of the Year by Austin Monthly. Prior to Comedor, Speer owned French-American restaurant, Bonhomie and held the title of Executive Pastry Chef and Culinary Director at Uchi/ko, where he was nominated for four James Beard Foundation Awards in the Outstanding Pastry Chef category.
