Shane Stark started his culinary journey in high school on the Jersey shore. His experience working in a restaurant only furthered his passion for food and led him to enroll and graduate from CIA Hyde Park. Upon graduation, he landed in Aspen, Colorado where he sharpened his culinary skills working at establishments like Hotel Jerome, Ritz Carlton and Kenichi Aspen. In 2001, his path led him to Texas when he was asked to spearhead the expansion and opening of Kenich in Austin, TX. Through the years, his hard work and determination has garnered him over 30 years of Executive Chef experience. Accolades ranging from creating the opening of many of Austin’s most celebrated restaurants. Now as owner and operator of Mongers Market + Kitchen, he is setting the bar for providing the freshest seafood in town, not only to diners on the Kitchen side, but to retail customers from the Market side. He has had the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of the restaurant that have allowed his abilities and commitment as Executive Chef and Owner to extend far beyond the kitchen and garden
