Born in Monrovia, Liberia, and now based in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Mon Rovîa blends his West African roots with Appalachian folk, drawing on a remarkable journey that took him from Liberia’s civil war to songwriting in the American South. His rise has been swift, with performances at Bonnaroo, Newport Folk Festival, Austin City Limits and the Grand Ole Opry, plus a 2026 Americana Honors & Awards nomination for “Heavy Foot,” from his debut album, Bloodline.

On Friday, Oct. 16, Mon Rovîa will take over Mohawk for the first night of Hot Luck weekend. Doors open at 8 p.m., and the show starts at 9 p.m.

A Whole Enchilada pass is your access to all Hot Luck has to offer. It’s your admission to Mon Rovia at Mohawk, Giddy Up, House Party, and more music to come. You’ll bum us all out if you can’t make it the whole weekend, but individual tickets are available to the show.
